The 440 iQ is the largest of Husqvarna’s iQ homeowner models, rated for lawns up to 8,000 m² – around two acres. That capacity comes from a bigger 7.5 Ah battery that mows for about 138 minutes per charge and recharges in 54 minutes, so on a long summer day it can keep working almost continuously. Positioning is handled by Husqvarna’s EPOS® satellite technology, accurate to roughly two centimetres, and both the EPOS® plug-in module and the RS1 reference station are included, so a wire-free installation needs nothing extra. Husqvarna Cloud coverage can be used in place of the reference station where it is available. On a property this size, going wire-free saves a serious amount of installation work and removes the maintenance headache of a very long buried cable. Everything is mapped in the Automower® Connect app – boundaries, separate work areas with their own schedules and cutting heights, and temporary stay-out zones. Object detection sensors soften or avoid collisions, cutting height runs from 25 to 100 mm electrically, and GPS tracking with GeoFence alerting is built in. A physical boundary wire installation is also supported.
