The 420 iQ takes the same wire-free EPOS® setup as the 410 iQ and scales it to properties up to 4,000 m² – about an acre. Satellite positioning accurate to roughly two centimetres holds the virtual boundaries you draw in the Automower® Connect app, and the EPOS® plug-in and RS1 reference station are both supplied, so there is nothing else to buy to get a wire-free installation going. If Husqvarna Cloud coverage reaches your address you can use that instead. The practical advantage over a wire on a block this size is significant: no long wire run to install, nothing to sever when you aerate or dig, and no fault-finding along hundreds of metres of cable when something stops working. A higher 4.2 A charging current gets it back out mowing in 54 minutes, which matters when there is a lot of ground to cover. Object detection sensors slow it down or steer it away from obstacles, the cutting height adjusts electrically from 25 to 100 mm, and GPS tracking with GeoFence alerts keeps tabs on where it is. Boundary wire installation is supported as an alternative if that suits your site better.
